THE BUZZARD:

If
you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8
feet and
Is entirely open at the top, the
bird, in spite of its
Ability to fly, will
be an absolute prisoner. The reason is
That
a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground
with a
Run of 10 to 12 feet. Without space
to run, as is its habit,
It will not even
attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner

For life in a small jail with no top.

THE BAT:

The
ordinary bat that flies around at night, a
remarkable  nimble creature in the air,
cannot take off from a level  place.
If it is placed on the floor or flat
ground, all it can do is shuffle about
helplessly and, no doubt, painfully, until it
reaches some slight elevation from which it can
throw itself into the air. Then, at once, it
takes off like a flash.

THE BUMBLEBEE:

A
bumblebee, if dropped into an open tumbler, will
be there until it dies, unless it is taken out.
It never sees the means of escape at the
top, but persists in trying to find some way out
through the sides near the bottom..  It
will seek a way where none exists, until it
completely destroys itself..

PEOPLE:

In
many ways, we are like the buzzard, the bat, and
the bumblebee. We struggle about with all our
problems and frustrations, never realizing that
all we have to do is look up!  That’s the
answer, the escape route and the solution to any
problem!  Just look up.

Sorrow
looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks
up!

Live simply, love generously , care
deeply, speak kindly.

God Calling

January 28th, 2010 |

Fear not.  Do not fear to be busy.  You are a servant of all.  “He that would be the greatest among you, let him be the servant of all.”

Service is the word of my disciples.  I served indeed, the humblest, the lowliest.  I was at their command.  My highest powers were at their service.

Be used.  Be used by all, by the lowest, the smallest.  How best can you serve?  Let that be your daily seeking, not how best can you be served.

Truly man’s thoughts are not God’s thoughts, nor man’s ways, God’s ways.  When you seek to follow me in all, it frequently means a complete reversion of the way of the world you have hitherto followed.  But it is a reversion that leads to boundless happiness and peace.

Look around you, read what is being written.  What do you find?  Do the aims and ambitions that man strives for bring peace, or the world’s awards bring heart-rest and happiness.  No! indeed, man is at war with man.  Those whom the world has most rewarded, with name, fame, honour, wealth, are weary and disappointed.

And yet, to the listening ear, above the jangle of the world’s discordant cries, there echoes down the 1900 years of My message, “Come unto Me all ye that are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.”

And the weary and disappointed who listen and turn to Me find indeed that rest.  Joy of the Weary I am, Music to the Heart I am, Health to the Sick, Wealth to the Poor, Food to the Hungry, Home of the Wanderer, Rapture to the Jaded, Love to the Lonely.

There is not one want of the soul, that I do not supply for the asking, and to you too, I long to be all.

Prayer

January 21st, 2010 |

Prov. 29:25

You never know when God is going to bless you!  Good things happen when you least expect them to.

Dear Lord,

I thank You for this day,

I thank You for my being able to see

and to hear this morning.

I’m blessed because You are

a forgiving God and

an understanding God..

You have done so much for me

and You keep on blessing me.

Forgive me this day for everything

I have done, said or thought

that was not pleasing to you.

I ask now for Your forgiveness.

Please keep me safe

from all danger and harm.

Help me to start this day

with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude.

Let me make the best of each and every day

to clear my mind so that I can hear from You..

Please broaden my mind

that I can accept all things.

Let me not whine and whimper

over things I have no control over.

And give me the best response

when I’m pushed beyond my limits.

I know that when I can’t pray,

You listen to my heart.

Continue to use me to do Your will.

Continue to bless me that I may be

a blessing to others.

Keep me strong that I may help the weak…

Keep me uplifted that I may have

words of encouragement for others.

I pray for those that are lost

and can’t find their way.

I pray for those that are misjudged

and misunderstood.

I pray for those who

don’t know You intimately.

I pray for those that will delete this

without sharing it with others

I pray for those that don’t believe.

But I thank You that I believe

that God changes people and

God changes things.

I pray for all my sisters and brothers.

For each and every family member

in their households.

I pray for peace, love and joy

in their homes; that they are out of debt

and all their needs are met.

I pray that every eye that reads this

knows there is no problem, circumstance,

or situation greater than God.

Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight.

I pray that these words be received

into the hearts of every eye that sees it

in Jesus ‘  name.  Amen!

If you prayed this prayer,

change the number in the subject box

before forwarding the message

so people can see how many

other people have done so..

God Bless !

Philip the Apostle

December 15th, 2009 |

Philipp

The Gospel of John describes Philip’s calling as a disciple of Jesus. Philip is described as a disciple from the city of Bethsaida, and connects him to Andrew and Peter, who were from the same town. It further connects him to Nathanael (sometimes identified withBartholomew), by describing how Philip introduced Nathaniel to Jesus. The authors of the Synoptic Gospels also describe Philip as a disciple of Jesus.

Of the four Gospels, Philip figures most prominently in the Gospel of John. His two most notable appearances in the narrative are as a link to the Greek-speaking Jewish community: Philip introduces members of this community to Jesus; and, during the Last Supper when he asked Jesus to see the Father, providing Jesus the opportunity to teach about the unity of the Father and the Son.

Philip is always listed fifth among the apostles.

James the Greater

November 19th, 2009 |

James the Greater

James, son of Zebedee (d. 44) or Yaakov Ben-Zebdi/Bar-Zebdi, was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus.  James is described as one of the first disciples to join Jesus.  James was one of only three apostles whom Jesus selected to bear witness to his Transfiguration.  The Acts of the Apostles records that Agrippa I had James executed by sword, making him the first of the apostles to be martyred.

Saint Andrew

November 10th, 2009 |

Andrew

The New Testament records that Andrew was the brother of Simon Peter, by which it is inferred that he was likewise a son of Jonah, or John. He was born in Bethsaida on the Sea of Galilee. Both he and his brother Peter were fishermen by trade, hence the tradition that Jesus called them to be his disciples by saying that He will make them “fishers of men“.

The Gospel of John teaches that Andrew was a disciple of John the Baptist, whose testimony first led him and John the Evangelist to follow Jesus. Andrew at once recognized Jesus as the Messiah, and hastened to introduce him to his brother. Thenceforth, the two brothers were disciples of Christ. On a subsequent occasion, prior to the final call to the apostolate, they were called to a closer companionship, and then they left all things to follow Jesus.

Andrew is said to have been martyred by crucifixion at Patras (Patrae) in Achaea. Though early texts, such as the Acts of Andrew known toGregory of Tours, describe Andrew bound, not nailed, to a Latin cross of the kind on which Christ was crucified, a tradition grew up that Andrew had been crucified on a cross of the form called Crux decussata (X-shaped cross) and commonly known as “Saint Andrew’s Cross“; this was performed at his own request, as he deemed himself unworthy to be crucified on the same type of cross on which Christ was crucified.

Saint Peter

November 3rd, 2009 |

Pope-peter_pprubens

Simon Peter was a leader of the early Christian Church, who features prominently in the New Testament Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles. Peter was the son of John, and was from the village of Bethsaida in the province of Galilee. His brother Andrew was also an apostle.

According to Biblical accounts, he was one of Twelve Apostles, chosen by Jesus from his first disciples. He was a fisherman assigned a leadership role by Jesus and was with Jesus during events witnessed by only a few apostles, such as the Transfiguration. Peter is revered by all Christians to this very day.

Profile: John the Apostle

October 26th, 2009 |

John the Apostle

John the Apostle (Greek ???????) (c. 6 – c. 100) was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus. He was the son of Zebedee and Salome, and brother of James, another of the Twelve Apostles.

Christian tradition identifies him as the author of several New Testament works: the Gospel of John, the Epistles of John, and the Book of Revelation. Some modern scholars believe that John the Apostle, John the Evangelist, and John of Patmos were three separate individuals.[2]Certain lines of evidence suggest that John of Patmos wrote only Revelation, neither the Gospel of John nor the Epistles of John. For one, the author of Revelation identifies himself as “John” several times, but the author of the Gospel of John never identifies himself directly.
